About

George Daniel Murphy III aka “Murph”
I started in sales immediately after college, selling wireless telecommunications solutions to small business, corporations, and government agencies downtown Washington, DC and the surrounding area. I was really excited about technology and new gadgets when I started and really enjoyed working with people. I intitially thought that wireless communications was where the future was at, but after carriers started buying each other and it becoming too repetitive and boring after a while, I knew it was time for a change.
I ran a small web site in college and was always interested in how it was marketed and how to find customers. About a year and a half ago I started really looking into Search Engine Optimization as a means of income. I started reading convention transcripts, E-Books, message boards and blogs, trying to decipher what information is actually useful and what information is coming from some tech-nerd who just likes to hear himself talk or type (or whatever). Everyone has to start somewhere right, and last time I checked there’s not a (reputable) college in the country offering BA’s in Internet Marketing.
Personal stuff: I’m 27 years old. I bought my first house in Baltimore City in January 2007 in the Highlandtown after moving from the DC area and refusing to pay $1400/month for a townhouse in Arlington or Alexandria. I have a dog named Jackson and we’re regulars in the Canton area, especially the dog park. I’m a huge soccer, football, whatever fan and support Manchester United, DC United, and the US Men’s National Team. And oh, in the other football, go Redskins.
So here I am, sharing whatever knowledge I have. No matter how far I make it in this career path (I still think of the word “career” as a four-letter word) I will probably never claim to be an expert in SEO because there will always be a hundred people out there who know more HTML coding or database programming or algorithms etc.. I’m just a normal guy trying to work from home and get by.
